Madeira

From 20/09 to 27/09/2025

Rediscovered in 1419 by the Portuguese, the island was uninhabited and densely forested at the time, and was called The Island of Wood (Madeira in Portuguese). Known as "the island of eternal spring", it is a paradise for trekking lovers, thanks to its variety of breathtaking landscapes: spectacular cliffs, imposing mountains and lush forests. In addition, UNESCO has included its beautiful Laurisilva forest, located in the northern region, among the world heritage sites. The island still belongs to Portugal today and is part of a volcanic archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Thanks to its geographical position, the Gulf Stream and its mountainous nature, it is characterized by a mild and humid climate, and for this reason the island is rich in tropical flowers and fruits. Immersed in this nature, we will hike through the heart of the island with its peaks Pico do Arieiro and Pico Ruivo, we will walk along ancient irrigation channels "Levadas" and we will push ourselves to the most eastern part of the island Ponta de Sao Lourenco.

20 sePtembeR: FLIGHT TO Madeira

Departure from Milan Malpensa Airport (or other city) to reach our destination, Madeira. Arrival on the island, accommodation in our hotel and dinner. We sleep for the entire duration of our trek in a cosy hotel in Funchal in the artistic center of the city where every little corner deserves a photo!

21 september: levada do caldeirao – ilha

Breakfast. We begin to discover the island by walking along the famous Levadas, canals built to irrigate crops. A path that follows the waterline and immerses itself in the part of the forest made up of Laurisilva. Along the way, rocky walls, waterfalls and tunnels are part of our landscape. A deep green envelops us in this landscape of primeval forest. The return on foot takes us to the town of Ilha to make our first day more exciting. Late in the day, return to our accommodation in Funchal. Dinner and overnight stay.
15km, 5h walking time, height difference approx. +/-170m

22 september: ribeiro frio – portela

Breakfast. This morning we take public transportation to the central part of the island where our adventure has already begun! We go down to the Ribeiro pass and from here we begin a long Levada that slowly descends along a path of water, immersed in the forest that accompanies us with its sounds and colors. Finally we reach Portela from where a bus takes us back to the capital! Relax in our hotel, then dinner and overnight stay.
12km, 4h approx. walking time, height difference +50/-260m

23 september: urban trekking in funchal

In the morning, after breakfast, we take some time to visit this beautiful capital where we start to feel the importance of Madeira as an island of the great Portuguese empire. A full immersion in the interweaving of colors and exotic fruits, sounds and mixtures of distant echoes.

After this guided visit we take a few more hours for ourselves and then continue our discoveries and end the day visiting the southern part, which we reach on foot through a Levada surrounded by inhabited houses. We arrive at a typical restaurant where we will enjoy dinner. Return by bus to our accommodation.

24 september: pico do ariero – pico ruvio

Breakfast. Today we will walk on one of the most famous paths in Europe, a path among the clouds that touches the highest peak of the island with its 1818 m. An intense walk that allows us to observe the island from above and see its deep valleys. If time allows, we can go down to the town of Monte which was the residence of the Last Austro-Hungarian Emperor and visit the famous Botanical Garden. Return to our accommodation and dinner.
8km, 5h walking time, height difference +-600m

25 september: manchico – porto cruz

Breakfast. Today’s route winds along the north-east coastal part of Madeira, and through a long balcony path we reach one of the most beautiful villages on the island, the small Puerto de la Cruz. High cliffs, the sea and panoramas of colors and lights are the strong elements of today’s excursion! At the end of the day, in addition to spending some time at the port, a surprise related to a famous local production of the island awaits us. Return to Funchal and dinner.
15km, 5h walking time, height difference +100m/-250m

26 september:  lamaceiros – valle de janela

Breakfast. A walk in a deep valley where one of the longest rivers on the island flows is today’s route, to get to know this corner of the western part of the island. We end this day with a beautiful sunset and perhaps the possibility of a swim in the pools of Porto Muniz. Return to accommodation and dinner.
11km, 4h walking time, height difference +/-100m

27 september: back to home!

After breakfast we have some free time to spend in Funchal, and  after saying goodbye to this beautiful island we move towards the airport and board our return flight. End of tour.

Crete: sea & gorges

From 2/10 to 9/10/2025

A spectacular exotic dive into the wildest coast of Crete, the extreme south of Europe, between the karst plateaus and the rocky gorges that plunge into the Libyan Sea. Between the mountains of the Gods and the legends of the Minoan Era, the rugged coast of the Sfakia region, the only one never to have been conquered by invaders, will give us truly unique emotions. We will be enchanted by the natural beauty of the island of Zeus and the wholesome hospitality of the islanders, sharing traditions and excellent local cuisine.

Morocco: Sahara Desert

From 22/11 to 30/11/2025

Experiential journey in the fascinating Sahara desert, among the highest sand dunes in Morocco. A 4-day crossing in the most pristine of the Erg (desert area consisting of sand arranged in dunes) to the rhythm of the camels and to the sound of the songs of the nomadic populations, oral heritage of the ancient caravan routes. From the last inhabited outpost before the "void land" we will move in a succession of emotions and infinite landscapes in the heart of this dune system (about 20 km long and 12 wide) letting ourselves be pampered by the sacred hospitality that you breathe in these remote places and the tasty Berber cuisine. There will be a visit to the teeming Marrakech, once the imperial city of western Morocco and to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO jewel rich in history.

22 november: flight to Marrakech

Meeting at the airport, check-in and departure for Marrakech. Transfer to our accommodation and, depending on the remaining free time, we visit some attractions of the picturesque old fortified citadel (Medina), Jamma el Fna square, Berber souks, labyrinthine markets full of fabrics, jewelry, spices and various ceramics. Return to the hotel and dinner at a traditional restaurant.

23 november: transfer to the gates of desert

Breakfast. In the morning, transfer by private vehicle to the town of M’Hamid el Ghizlane located at the confluence of the Draa River at the gates of the desert. The journey lasts about 7-8 hours and will allow us to admire the landscape of the Hammada, the typical rocky plateau. From here we continue to our accommodation in a comfortable oasis. Dinner and overnight stay.

24 november: Sidi Naji

After breakfast, our first real day of desert adventure begins. We head towards the dunes and the sanctuary of Sidi Naji, between plateaus and undulating desert formations. We will camp in the heart of the dunes for the first night under the stars of the Sahara desert! Dinner and overnight.

25 november: Erg Ezzahar

Typical breakfast and departure for the magnificent dunes of Erg Ezzahar (the screaming dunes, for the light sound caused by the wind similar to a sigh), after crossing another endless desert plateau. This giant sea of sand dunes will offer us a spectacular view of the entire course of the Draa River with the characteristic tamarinds. It is the typical Sahara landscape that we have always imagined and we will feel indescribable emotions thinking that this is a route that has always been traveled by Bedouin merchants in this part of the desert. Dinner and overnight stay.

26 november: Erg Smar

We continue our crossing with our guides and camels towards the dunes of Erg Smar with its ancient abandoned village, in another succession of infinite panoramas. While we wait for our camp to be prepared we relax with a good mint tea enjoying the sunset and the feeling of peace and serenity that only the desert can give. Dinner and overnight stay.

27 november:  Erg Chegaga

After breakfast, we leave the Erg Smar dune area to gradually enter the Erg Chegaga dunes, the highest dunes in Morocco. A nomadic atmosphere between simplicity and sharing will now accompany us on this last day of trekking in the desert. Dinner and overnight stay.

28 november: towards M’Hamid and transfer to Ait  Ben Haddou

After breakfast, we will be picked up by a 4×4 off-road vehicle to return to the town of M’Hamid and from there we will say goodbye to the desert and move with a private minibus towards the fortified town (Ksar) of Ait-Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After dropping off our luggage at the facility, we visit this suggestive town built around in 1600AD with organic materials such as red mud. Situated on a hill, this fortification dominates the valley at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and in the past has often been used as a location in scenes of epic films such as Gladiator or Lawrence of Arabia. Possibility of booking a Hammam (Turkish bath) in the city. Overnight stay in hotel and dinner.

29 november: return to Marrakech

After breakfast, taxi to Ouarzazate and then at midday
bus to Marrakech. Free afternoon to discover the suggestive corners of this wonderful city on your own!
Dinner and overnight stay.

30 novembre:  flight back home

Breakfast, then transfer to the airport, check-in formalities, passport control and return flight to Milan / Bergamo or other airport. End of tour.

Technical information about hiking in the desert
We walk 4 to 5 hours a day, covering around 15 km per stage
We sleep in a large tent, max 14 people, however those who want can sleep open-air under the stars!

Andalusia – from Ronda to Gibraltar

From 01/11 to 09/11/2025

Andalusia is synonymous with authentic Spain, steeped in history and centuries-old traditions. The architecture reflects the legacy of Arab domination, with the whitest cubic houses, the colorful ceramics and sky-blue majolica, the magnificent villages and the relaxed and cheerful lifestyle. We will walk from Ronda to Gibraltar, covering about 100km through enchanting "pueblos blancos", large green spaces and pastures, immense olive groves, cotton fields but also gorges and canyons furrowed by rushing torrents, watched over by colonies of vultures that circle always watching us and nest in the cliffs of these rugged mountains. We end up arriving at the Rock of Gibraltar, today still British territory and the last European outpost facing Morocco, once an impregnable fortress guarding Her Majesty's maritime traffic and today a truly surprising tourist destination! An amazing trek that will envelop us in magic and wonder, inside a Spain rich in colors and flavors.

1 novembeR: FLIGTH TO MALAGA AND TRANSFER TO Ronda

Meeting at the airport, departure for Malaga and then we take a bus to Ronda, a splendid town among the oldest in Spain, perched on a 100m deep gorge. We arrive in the early afternoon, we have a few hours to wander the streets of the historic center. Then dinner and overnight stay.

2 november: Ronda – Montejaque

After breakfast, we say goodbye to Ronda and descend into the valley along the Via Serrana, a side path of the Camino de Santiago that will take us to the magnificent mountain village of Montejaque. We walk on hillsides amidst olive groves, vegetable gardens and small sheep and other livestock farms. The stage is not too long but very pleasant, the arrival in Montejaque is spectacular! Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
12,4km, 4h walking time, height difference up/down +397/-450m

3 november: Montejaque – Cortes de la Frontera

Breakfast. Today the trail climbs gently to the Libar Plain, under imposing cliffs where vultures find a home and dozens circle silently in the sky. We then continue along a long, fairly flat stretch of immense cultivated fields, cow farms, then a short climb takes us to a solitary saddle under the Sierra de los Pinos and from here begins the descent to the village of Cortes de la Frontera.
Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
19,9km, 6h walking time, height difference up/down +584/-641m

4 november: Cortes de la Frontera – El Colmenar

Breakfast. A magnificent stage that begins by descending into the valley towards the village of Cañada del Real Tesoro, we then continue on dirt tracks inside fields and farms, and then continue along a coast of a rugged valley where the Guadiaro torrent flows below. We descend sharply until we reach the level of the river that we cross on a bridge that takes us to the other bank. We are inside the Canyon de las Buitreras, we climb steeply up the slope and when we reach the top a wonderful landscape opens up: the canyon widens slightly, hundreds of vultures circle above us and descending again towards the river we arrive at El Colmenar, a tiny but charming village that will welcome us tonight! Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
16km, 5h30min walking time, height difference up/down +403/-770m

5 november: El Colmenar – Jimena de la Frontera

Breakfast. Today’s stage begins uphill on green hills with wide views. Then we gradually descend in altitude and we see the Mediterranean Sea and the Rock of Gibraltar on the horizon, our final destination! We continue through beautiful agricultural plots, we pass through a lively town (San Pablo de Buceite) where we can stop for a beer! We finish with the last kilometers to Jimena de La Frontera, a beautiful “Pueblo Blanco” perched on a steep mountain ridge. We stay in a wonderful B&B run by only women! Dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay.
19,3km, 6h15min walking time, height difference up/down +450m/-579m

6 november: Jimena de la Frontera – Castellar Viejo de la Frontera

After breakfast we set off on this long stage, which is almost all flat except for the last stretch that takes us to Castellar Viejo. We follow the dirt road along the railway line, which cuts through huge cotton fields. Castellar Viejo de la Frontera is a small and picturesque medieval village located on a hill, overlooking the agricultural plain on one side and an artificial lake on the other. We sleep in the castle that today is transformed into a modern hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
21,2km, 5h45min walking time, height difference up/down +250m/-117m

7 november: Castellar Viejo de la Frontera – San Roque – La Linea de la Conception

Breakfast. We leave our castle and go down to the village of Castellar Nuevo. From here we take sandy paths inside a wonderful forest of maritime pines. It is a beautiful stretch, solitary and meditative. Leaving this enchanted forest, we continue towards San Roque, now the Rock of Gibraltar is ever closer, you can see the port of Algeciras and the sea… In San Roque, an urban center of 30,000 inhabitants we make a beer stop that marks the end of our walks. In the late afternoon we take the bus that takes us to La Linea de la Conception, a town on the border with Gibraltar. Arrival at the hotel, dinner in a typical restaurant and overnight stay.
21,2km, 6h45min walking time, height difference up/down +383m/-549m

8 november: gibraltar rock!

Breakfast. Our hotel is 400m from the border with Gibraltar, which is still a UK territory and you will therefore have to go through customs and a PASSPORT is required to enter this small stretch of land. We then enter a new “nation” and take the bus to the departure of the famous cable car that takes us to the top of the rock of Gibraltar. A friendly colony of macaques lives here, funny and clever animals (watch out for your backpacks, they have learned to open the zips and rummage around looking for food!). A pedestrian path takes us to the top of this incredible cliff that drops vertically into the sea. The view is simply breathtaking, just 13km from the sea you can see the coasts of Morocco with the Rif Mountains, the entire Gulf of Algeciras and the confluence of the Mediterranean with the Atlantic Sea. There is a glass Skywalk built on the void, there are several military posts with cannons from the English Royal Naval Army. We also visit St. Michael’s Cave, an incredible wonder of nature with gigantic stalagmites. We walk down from the Rock to the town, and stroll along Main Street, Gibraltar’s shopping and entertainment road that takes us to the border, and back to our hotel in Spain!
Dinner in a restaurant on the seafront, overnight stay.
IMPORTANT: entry and visit to Gibraltar is only possible for those in possession of a passport (ID card NOT accepted).
If someone does not have one, they can skip the visit and have a free day at La Linea de la Conception.

Tinos – Greece

from 11/10 to 18/10/2025

Tinos is the island you don’t expect… Ignored by tourist brochures despite being the third largest of the Cyclades, it is famous for its splendid traditional villages (over 60!), the typical dovecotes dating back to the Venetian domination of the 13th century, as well as for the marble and the many artists and sculptors who still masterfully work this stone today. The villages in fact show off splendid buildings, squares, churches and marble facades, among the most splendid and well-preserved in the whole of Greece. It is also home to a splendid sanctuary, Panagia Evangelistria, a destination for pilgrimages and one of the most sacred and venerated places in Christian Orthodoxy. Also renowned for its local cuisine, Tinos preserves beautiful secluded beaches, wild bays and crystal-clear sea. We will visit it in early autumn, where we will still have the opportunity to enjoy the moderate heat and take many more baths in the warm waters of the Aegean.

11 oCtobER: FLIGHT TO  atHenS – FERRY TO tinos

Meeting at the airport, check-in formalities and take-off for Athens.Transfer by bus to the port of Rafina, from where we set sail in the late afternoon and arrive around 9:00 pm in Tinos.
From the port a private bus takes us to Panormos, a pretty village on the north-east coast nestled on the sea, where we spend our first days on the island. Free dinner on the ferry, overnight stay in a studio in the village.

12 oCtobeR:  profitis ilias – marlas –  mali AND koumelas BEACHES

Breakfast. Our first excursion takes us to discover a remote and wild area. We climb towards the church of Kira Xeni, then continue on a hill where a chapel dedicated to the Prophet Elias is built. From here you can enjoy a unique panorama that spans a good part of Tinos and nearby Andros. We continue passing by tiny hamlets (Marlas and Mamados), then turn north towards two splendid solitary beaches: Mali and Koumelas. A well-deserved swim awaits us! Return to Panormos, dinner in a tavern and overnight stay.
18,5 km, 6,5h walking time, height difference up/down +750m/-750m

13 october: pyrgos – platià – ysternia

Breakfast. We walk along the sea to Rochari beach, from where the climb begins towards the village of Platià through a rather wild gorge. From Platià we climb further until we reach the abandoned windmills of Ysternia. We enter the village, one of the most beautiful on the island, with its white marble houses, churches and shaded squares with an incredible view of Syros and the Aegean Sea. We go down a splendid marble-paved path towards the bay of Ysternia, reaching the beach. After our packed lunch, we go back up towards Ysternia village. From here we can choose, depending on our remaining energy, to walk down to Pyrgos or take the afternoon bus that takes us both to Pyrgos and Panormos, where we spend the night. A visit to Pyrgos is a must, it is considered one of the most splendid mountain villages in the Cyclades! Dinner in a tavern, overnight stay.
12 km, 6h walking time, height difference up/down +760m/-460m

Menorca (Balearic Islands)

From 06/09 to 13/09/2025

Minorca, Cami de Cavalls

In the heart of the Mediterranean between Spain and Italy lies Minorca, an island little known to mass tourism. The little sister of the Balearic Islands, the easternmost of the archipelago, it has often been forgotten in favor of the more famous Ibiza and Mallorca. Walking along the ancient "Camì de Cavalls", the path that winds along the entire perimeter of the island, you will be fascinated by a variety of landscapes and environments that have been protected as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 1993. Magnificent and solitary beaches, the wind, an important prehistoric archaeological heritage, the mills, the horses, the Minorcan food, the French, English and Arab descendants, the sea... the tanca, the lagoon areas and the rock formations are the protagonists of the island. A journey to discover Minorca, its history, its people and its culture.

6 sePtembEr: DEPARTURE TO Minorca

Meeting at Milan Airport (or other), check-in formalities and arrival in Mahon (Menorca). Transfer by private bus to Ciutadella, the second most important town on the island, nestled on the sea. Accommodation in a family-run hotel in the old town. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay.

7 september: Mahon feast!

Today is an important day for the whole island, a huge community party: the Horse Festival of Minorca! We also participate in this event that is held in the city of Mahon, and which concludes the summer cycle of horse parties. A feast that goes back to the 14th century and celebrates these wonderful horses. An exciting party attended by all the Menorcans, and we will be part of it all. Free dinner.

8 september: Alaior – Cala en Porter

Breakfast. We move to Alaior, a magnificent town located in the interior of the island and outside the tourist destinations, where we start to understand its habits by drinking a coffee in the square accompanied by an Ensaimada, the typical Balearic dessert. We begin to walk towards the sea until we reach the Talaiotic site named “Torre d’En Galmes“. Finally we arrive at Cala en Porter following a path along a baranco. Possibility of taking a well-deserved bath at the end of the trek. Return to Ciutadela and dinner in a restaurant.
11km, 4hr walking time, height difference up/down +145/-252m.

9 september: San Tomas – Cala Galdana

Breakfast. Bus transfer to San Tomas. We walk across one of the most beautiful stretches of the southern coast of the island. We will see white beaches bathed by crystal clear waters and we will stop in some of these oases, such as Cala Mitjana and Cala en Turqueta for a sunbath. Along the way, in addition to exotic scenery, the Mediterranean scrub with its essences is the absolute protagonist, together with olive groves and cultivated fields. At the end of the evening an interesting walk awaits us with a local guide, Isabel, to discover the secrets of the island. Return to the hotel, dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay.

10,1km – 4,5hr walking time,  height difference up/down +293/-300m

10 settembre: Es Grau – S’Albufera – Favaritx lighthouse

Breakfast. Departure by bus for the beautiful crossing of the Natural Park  S’Albufera des Grau which represents the core of the biosphere reserve, therefore from an environmental point of view it is the most important part of the island. We will cross the humid area, an expanse of fresh water where birds nest on small floating islands, to finally arrive at the Favaritx Lighthouse where a lunar landscape leaves us breathless.
Note: In the morning we go to the fish market to buy our fish (about 10-15 Euros per person), which in the evening will be cooked in a typical restaurant in the village.
9,6km – 3,5hr walking time, height difference up/down +- 197m

11 september: Visit of mahon harbour – afternoon from Punta Nati to Ciutadela

Breakfast. Bus transfer to Mahon, the capital of Menorca, where we embark to visit the natural port, considered one of the largest in Europe, and stop on the island of Rei. In the late afternoon we leave for Punta Nati and walk in a dramatic setting made of stones and cliffs overlooking the sea, where we wait for the sunset. An unusual and surprising walk. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5,7km – 2hr walking time, height difference up/down +80/-91m

12 september: Cala Morell – Cala Pilar

Breakfast. Bus transfer to Cala Morell, where we begin another route in the north part of Menorca. Today’s trail crosses another wild part of this island, with a variety of colors along our route: from the green of the vegetation, to the red of the rock that turns into yellow and then red again. A continuous change of scenery and energy until the peak of Cala Pilar, one of the least accessible and best preserved beaches in Menorca.
